SACRAMENTS
“Christ now acts through the sacraments he instituted to communicate his grace. The sacraments are perceptible signs (words and actions) accessible to our human nature. By the action of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit they make present efficaciously the grace that they signify.”
CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD
Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOTW) is a ritual within the Catholic Church that is specifically designed for children during the Mass. It provides a setting where the proclamation of God’s Word is tailored to the understanding and age level of children.
This separate liturgy allows children to engage with Scripture in a way that resonates with them. During this time, the Gospel reading is proclaimed to the children in a way to guide them in reflecting on the message of the Gospel and its relevance to their lives.
Leaders prepare materials and reflections based on the Gospel reading for that day. The liturgy is adapted to the children’s level of understanding, ensuring that they can engage with the Word of God.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is a beautiful opportunity for young ones to encounter God’s Word and grow in their faith within the context of the Mass.
CLOTW takes place during the 10:00am Mass during school term.
Registration is essential. Please contact the Parish Office for further information.
