However, despite this joyous scene, it also foreshadowed his impending death and crucifixion. This is why Palm Sunday is often known as Passion Sunday as well, and hence the Passion is read during the gospel. It captures the accounts of Jesus’ suffering and death, and how his sacrifice would ultimately redeem us. From hereon, we look forward to the end of Holy week, where our joy, will turn to sorrow and return to joy again when his glorious resurrection at Easter brings us hope and promise that by His death and resurrection, we are redeemed and will join him in his kingdom.
* Kindly do not dispose your blessed palms in the bin when they have dried. Return them to church where they will be burned and used as ashes for next year’s Ash Wednesday service. You may also burn them at home or bury them in the ground
This year, there will be an overnight Eucharistic Adoration, commencing
at 9pm following the Holy Thursday Mass. This will proceed through the
night till 10am on Good Friday morning. Then, the Stations of the Cross will commence. Kindly register your name on the Registration Sheet in the Church Foyer.
On Holy Saturday, at the Easter Vigil Mass, please bring along a candle in a holder for the Eucharistic celebration.
